response to the reding

The reading about Thomas Friedman is primarily about globalization and the power that it endures on our society.  Globalization highly influences major economic, social, as well as political life in our century and will continue to do so.  Our beloved United States is viewed by many as the majore globalizing power of our century.  Just the idea of spreading capitalism across the world as a role model act of government displays globalization, however this may not always be right for every country.  The book refers to many of Nadar’s views and opposition to certain globalization concepts and its contraversy.  The book defines globalization as the “inexorable integration of markets, transportation systems, and communication systems to a degree never witnessed before in a way that is enabling corporations, countries, and individuals to reach around the world, farther, faster, deeper, and cheaper than ever before.  In other words anything or any technology that enables the common person to persue and accomplish tasks quicker is in a sense globalization.  A great example of this is the world wide web.  The internet can allow one to purchase anything across the country faster and cheaper cutting out the middle man.  This is a universal globalization used througout the world.  The principle fo globaliaztion and globalization system is very complex with many structures within to allow the balance of powers to prevail between country or even company throughout the world.  The book at countless times refers to the 9/11 acts as a break in globalization where personal power and problems are taken in to consideration even if it conflicts with national globalization.  Globalization goes further than what meets the eye and is an enourmous concept and structure used by many countries throughout our world.  In a sense it is a good idea but the conflicting idea’s and side-effects could at times prove otherwise.
